When jumper rider Shelby contacted me about getting portraits in her wedding dress with her horse, I was over the moon! I love bridal sessions, mostly because I love beautiful things like wedding dresses, and getting to combine that with horses couldn’t be more perfect. Shelby got married at her farm last year, but wasn’t able to get all the photos with her horse Waterloo (“BooBoo”) that she was hoping for since it rained the day of the wedding. We had a gorgeous sunny morning for our photo shoot however, and were able to get the photos she had wanted!
If you would like to get photos with your horse in your wedding dress, I recommend planning a separate bridal session even if your wedding will be at your farm. Weddings tend to be a whirlwind with incredibly tight timelines, so it is hard to take the time you need when you are working with horses or other animals. Taking bridal portraits after the wedding (like Shelby did) is also a great option since you don’t have to worry about getting your dress dirty like you would before your wedding. (Your dress will get dirty even if you are incredibly careful, barns are like that!)
Location: Hunter/Jumper Barn Slate Creek Farm in Magnolia, TX.
These are just gorgeous! Both bride and horse are stunning. You captured the whole session just beautifully!
These are amazing! Is that horse giant or is she tiny? Or both? Either way gorgeous photos!
